Mary Catherine Flynn Fehr is honored as an Iowa State University alumnus for dedicated service to her family and community. She was born and raised in Bettendorf, Iowa. As a student at Iowa State University she was active in university programs particularly those associated with the residence halls. She graduated with a B.S. degree in Marketing from the College of Business.
She was employed by Oscar Mayer until her husband Steven graduated from the College of Medicine at the University of Iowa. Mary, known by her friends as Kitty, has a special relationship with Carrie Chapman Catt Hall. It was on the south steps of the building that Steven proposed to her. At that time the building was not occupied and its future was uncertain. Kitty moved with her husband to Waukesha, Wisconsin where her first child Benjamin was born. She is a wonderful mother and wife from whom service to others is the highest priority.
