Mary Ione McGregor Cook

Mary Ione McGregor was born on a family farm near Canistota, SD, which was homesteaded in the 1860's. As a child, she endured grim hardships during the Dustbowl years of the Great Depression while her family struggled to keep the farm. Mary has always valued education and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from South Dakota State University. She married Arnold Cook of Sioux Falls, SD. Mary is the mother of four children.

Mary has always demonstrated a strong work ethic and has held numerous jobs outside the home. This has included school teacher, Girl Scout leader, Peace Corps volunteer, and church & civic volunteer, to name but a few. Additionally, she has always valued the arts and anything to lighten the spirit.
