Mary graduated from Iowa State University in 1952 with a B.S. degree in Applied Art. She went on to receive an M. Ed. degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana.

Mary was an assistant professor in ISU’s Dept. of Design from 1969-1992. Other employment was with Cons. Vultee Aircraft and Bendix Radio as a graphic designer and in Jewell, IA, Covington, IN. Worked in Hoopston, IL as an art instructor.

Mary loves art teaching. She enjoys students of all ages.

Professional organizations and activities: Art Educators of Iowa, Chair of the Art Curriculum Committee for Iowa Council of Student Affairs, Faculty Chair (proposed non-alcohol dorm floors as a student choice).

Research to survey colleges with results used to formulate new Basic Design Course in the new College of Design, survey of employers for career and employment possibilities.

Awards and recognitions: Kappa Delta Pi National Education Honorary, Univ. of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign 1969; Outstanding Academic Advising Award, Iowa State Student Alumna Association 1980.

Mary married Jon Edwin Morgan and had five children.
