Mary Ruth Thomas Scheve, "MRS CY," is a 1983 graduate in accounting. Her loyal service to this university did not stop after graduation, though. She has since devoted her time and talents through the Iowa State University Alumni Association Audit Committee and Greater Des Moines Cyclone Club. Additionally, as a life-long donor and 3-sport season ticket holder, she has become known for her infamous "Cyclone pants," which have seen many a game (and many more to come)!
My mother is an incredible woman. Her passion for her family, for serving others, and especially for the Cyclones is unparalleled. For these reasons and many more, my mother belongs in the Plaza of Heroines. Mom, thank you for teaching me a love for Iowa State and for accounting from such a young age. But most of all, thank you for teaching me a love for others, a love for serving others. You are a role model to Dad, Tim, Max, me, and to everyone else with the great pleasure of simply being around you. You are truly my heroine.
