I never met my sister-in-law Megan but I know her in so many ways. I know her when I look in her brother's eyes; they are the same shape and have long sweeping lashes that spark compliment and envy. I know her through her mother and her tireless efforts to make changes in the lives of other children affected by cancer through the Make a Wish Foundation-the same foundation that gave her the opportunity to take a family trip to Disney World. I know Megan through her father who wears proudly wears a Mickey Mouse wristwatch in her honor and isn't afraid to be casual and silly because life is too precious and short not to laugh at the everyday and ordinary things in life. Megan lived all her life in Emmetsburg IA. In addition to her family, she loved the Beach Boys, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and the color hot pink. After battling cancer for over half of her lifetime, Megan left this world in her sleep as angels do. She was 12. She was loved by many people and has been greatly missed even by those such as myself who never had the chance to meet her in person.
