Mollie received a horticulture degree from Iowa State in 2006. She spent her first career years in public garden management but was soon drawn into the world of production agriculture; naturally enough, as she was born into a farm family. Mollie began a career in farm and land management at a time when very few women worked in that profession, and she is helping pave the way for women's growing profile in the agricultural industry. She earned the accredited farm manager designation (AFM) in 2018, one of a small handful of women in the US to gain that honor. The Iowa Chapter of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers presented its Early Career Award to Mollie in 2022. The award recognizes an outstanding early career member of the Iowa Chapter for his/her contributions to the Chapter, ASFMRA, and the profession. Through her professional work and various board and committee commitments, Mollie is a voice in the state-wide discussion on sustainability and conservation initiatives, focusing on the state's boots-on-the-ground efforts to build soil health and improve water quality. She is using her passion and expertise to be a part of a solution to balancing the protection of our land and water with preserving Iowa's status as a leader in crop and livestock production.
