MURIAL COLLIER BIVENS
Muriel was a third-generation Iowa Stater. Her grandparents graduated in 1885, her mother attended, and her father graduated in the 1920's. Muriel graduated in 1949 in Home Economics Education. She taught for two years and then served as County Home Economist in Washington County, Iowa until her marriage in 1953.
She was loved and admired for her strength in the face of adversity; loyalty to family friends church and ISU; scholarly approach in religious and socio-psychological areas; teaching of practical skills; patience and understanding; and giving of herself for others, always with grace and good will.
Muriel passed away on Nov. 20, 2011.
