Nancy worked in the Ames Community Schools as the Environmental Education Teacher - Bus Driver for the Project ECO Program. The students of the Ames School District interacted directly with various habitats and environmental activities throughout their educational careers in the Ames Schools due to the Project ECO Program started in 1971 due to "Earth Day" awareness concerns. Nancy believed students needed to be involved in the hands-on environmental activities to truly understand their natural world. Tell me, I’ll forget. Show me, I may remember. Involve me, I’ll understand.
