Nancy grew up in northern Minnesota. She met her husband Michael while visiting in Iowa. When Michael returned to school at ISU in 1983 to study veterinary medicine Nancy went to work at the ISU Office of Minority Student Affairs. She rapidly became an integral part of this office. Her love and appreciation for the cultural diversity that is a part of the daily atmosphere at MSA make her interactions with students, faculty and staff very positive and pleasant experiences for all. She became an outspoken advocate who strives to make sure that student's needs both personal and academic are met. She has touched the lives of many people helping to make their experience at ISU positive and productive. She has greatly enriched countless lives and is truly one of ISU's great unsung heroines.
