Our mother, Ruth Anderson, received an important legacy from her mother. She knew from her earliest years the importance of education for women. There was never any question that she would graduate from college.
For us, her daughters, the opportunity was the same. Nothing else was as important as the education of her children. She worked and saved so we too could start our lives with college degrees.
She has been a shining example of the meaning of lifelong learning. We thank her and promise to continue her legacy to the generations of women who follow us.
