Sheila Lundt is certainly one of Iowa State University's most loyal alumnae. Her ties to Iowa State are obvious by her support of ISU athletics and other university programs. Far beyond these contributions, however, is the impact she has made to the community of Ames, both for students and other residents. Sheila serves as the assistant to the city manager in Ames and has dedicated her career to public service. There are many burdens and demands associated with her position, yet Sheila continues to give of herself to make Ames the outstanding community it is. She has served as a mentor to many Iowa State students in the public administration field. She was also instrumental in my decision to enter the profession. Her personal and professional contributions are worthy of inclusion in the Plaza of Heroines.
