Thelma Luther R.N. M.P.H. embodies the pioneer spirit of the Luther family who settled in Story and Boone counties in the mid-nineteenth century. Undaunted by the Depression era and armed with great determination she prepared for a trailblazing career in public health nursing. Her strong leadership and tireless energy influenced the lives of many people locally and nationally and she joins other role models in the Catt Plaza of Heroines at ISU.
