VIRGINIA OLIVE ANDERSON was born on April 15 1917 in Williamston, Michigan and graduated from Williamston High School in 1935 (as shown in the photograph). In 1940 she married GEORGE EMERSON CRANDELL. Their daughter GINA MARIE CRANDELL taught here in the Department of Landscape Architecture and married DAVID LEE ROOCHNIK in 1984 who taught in the Department of Philosophy. Their daughters LENA ROOCHNIK CRANDELL and SHANA ROOCHNIK CRANDELL were born in Ames in 1986 and 1989. VIRGINIA CRANDELL is a loving mother and grandmother to the generations who are following her lead.
