Since leaving Iowa State in 1986 with a BFA, I have been spending my years combining my interests in art and academia earning an MFA from Montana State University in 1990 and an MA in Popular Culture from Bowling Green State University in 1992. I am currently researching and writing a dissertation in American Civilization at the University of Pennsylvania with an eye toward teaching or museum work. All of these personal and professional successes were made real by the encouragement, support and generosity of the many able and talented women who populate my life: Joan Woloson, Mildred Essick, Rachel Lowrie, Christa Wilmanns-Wells, Leah Woloson and Kathy Paape-Gibbs.
